Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced attorney to support a practice focused on white collar defense, government investigations, criminal matters, and other complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling investigations, legal research and writing, and substantive case work.

While experience with federal criminal matters is highly desirable, the successful candidate must also be comfortable working on matters outside their primary area of expertise. We are looking for an attorney who is intellectually curious, adaptable, and capable of contributing across a broad range of cases.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other substantive legal work product.
  • Assist with investigations, case strategy, and case management.
  • Review and analyze documents and evidence.
  • Prepare case outlines, claims analyses, and defense strategies.
  • Work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with attorneys on active matters.
  • Support matters from early investigation through litigation and resolution.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience handling complex investigations, litigation, or government enforcement matters.
  • Ability to manage substantive case responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills.
  • Self-starter who can anticipate needs, follow up independently, and thrive in a remote environment.
Preferred Background
  • Former Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA), USAO, or other federal prosecutor.
  • Experience with white collar investigations, fraud, public corruption, financial crimes, healthcare fraud, regulatory matters, forfeiture matters, or related litigation.
  • Trial experience.
  • Judicial clerkship experience.
  • Experience managing matters from investigation through resolution.
  • California or Texas residence preferred.
Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidates will bring the investigative, writing, and litigation skills commonly developed through federal prosecution, government investigations, judicial clerkships, or complex litigation practices. They will be comfortable handling both matters that align with their prior experience and matters that require learning new subject areas.
