Mulliken Weiner Berg & Jolivet P.C. in Colorado Springs is seeking an attorney with several years of civil litigation experience to join our established practice.

You will work across construction, employment, real estate, and commercial litigation, handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances with direct partner mentorship. From day one you are expected to draft pleadings and motions, run discovery, take and defend depositions, and appear in court for hearings and trials.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience in construction, employment, or commercial litigation.
• Ability to draft persuasive motions and briefs and manage discovery independently.
• Deposition and courtroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of construction, employment, real estate, and commercial litigation from intake through settlement, trial, and/or appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct legal research and give partners clear, practical analysis on case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and work with experts.
• Appear in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, arbitration and trial, first-chairing more matters as you gain experience.
• Represent clients in mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Advise clients on best practices and contract disputes before they turn into lawsuits.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court, and keep clients updated on their case.
• Keep accurate time records and meet billable hour expectations consistent with firm standards.
