Job summary

Jones Walker LLP seeks a highly motivated litigation associate with a minimum of three years of relevant experience to join our New Orleans office. The ideal candidate will handle a wide range of litigation tasks independently and bring strong courtroom and pretrial experience to the role.

You will manage day-to-day litigation activities, conduct and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and handle pretrial matters including discovery and case strategy.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in Louisiana.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Demonstrated ability to take and defend depositions.
• Proven courtroom experience, including oral argument.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day litigation activities with minimal supervision.
• Conduct and defend depositions with confidence and strategic insight.
• Draft and argue motions in court, including dispositive and procedural motions.
• Handle pretrial matters including discovery, case strategy, and client communications.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
