Job summary

AMS Staffing Inc. seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate for its Baton Rouge office.

The candidate will handle depositions, motions, discovery, and trial work, collaborating with partners across all phases of litigation while maintaining direct client communication. Candidates must have at least three years of litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and be in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years’ litigation experience.
• Experience taking depositions, writing motions, and responding to discovery is highly desired.
• Excellent academic credentials with strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to interact directly with clients and develop client/referral relationships.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload from start to finish, attend court appearances and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Take depositions, draft motions, respond to discovery, and support trial work.
• Collaborate with partners on all phases of litigation and case reporting.
• Manage electronic discovery workflows and provide client updates.
• Maintain direct client communication and timely updates throughout cases.

Job Title: Commercial Litigation Associate

Salary/Payrate: Salary Dependent on Experience

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

Job Description:

• Qualified candidates will possess minimum three (3) years’ litigation experience.
• Experience in taking depositions, writing motions, and responding to discovery are highly desired.
• Associates work hand in hand with partners on all phases of litigation, case reporting, electronic discovery, and depositions, through trial.
• Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability and the desire to interact directly with our client’s clients and to further develop client and referral relationships.
• Candidates should be able to independently manage a caseload from beginning to end, regularly handle court appearances and depositions, have experience with electronic discovery platforms, take the lead with client communication, and provide meaningful updates.
• The successful candidate should have a track record of high achievement in law school, the desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment and the ability to work as part of a team. This position is based in our client’s Baton Rouge office, and all candidates must be in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
