Job summary

Adams- in Colorado seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of civil litigation experience to support its construction defect defense group. This role offers substantial responsibility, client contact, and collaboration with experts under mentorship from trial lawyers.

The ideal candidate will be Colorado-licensed, with strong discovery, motion practice, writing, and case management skills, and deposition experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Colorado-licensed attorney with 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience in insurance defense, construction defect, casualty, or general/commercial litigation.
• Strong foundation in discovery, motion practice, legal writing, and case management.

Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse docket of construction, casualty, premises liability, and general negligence defense matters.
• Prepare and file pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal briefs.
• Develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability and damages exposure.
• Conduct witness interviews and factual investigations.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery and document review.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
• Coordinate with insurers, consultants, engineers, and expert witnesses throughout litigation.
• Analyze technical, contractual, and factual issues relevant to construction and liability disputes.
• Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, and pretrial motion practice.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding litigation strategy, budgeting, and case developments.
