Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of general commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
• Contribute meaningfully through all stages of litigation from pleadings to depositions.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery requests, and dispositive motions; take/defend depositions.

A national law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its New York City office . This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial litigation matters alongside a collaborative and well‑regarded team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience handling a broad range of general commercial litigation matters , including significant work in New York State and federal courts. This position provides meaningful responsibility throughout all stages of litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, and depositions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active admission to practice in the State of New York
• 5–7 years of relevant litigation experience
• Large law firm experience is strongly preferred

Experience & Skills

• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Experience in New York State and federal courts
• Drafting and responding to pleadings and written discovery
• Drafting and arguing dispositive and non‑dispositive motions
• Taking and defending fact and expert depositions
• Experience with real estate and finance‑related litigation preferred
• Trial experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation & Benefits

$250,000 – $280,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
