Job summary

Qualifications

Job OverviewA law firm seeks a talented Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join its growing litigation team in Torrance, CA. This role is ideal for attorneys with a strong foundation in California civil litigation, particularly those experienced in defending corporate clients under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Candidates from the greater Los Angeles area are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Handle all phases of litigation in state and federal courts.
• Manage cases under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and related consumer litigation matters.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions.
• Conduct written discovery, take and defend depositions, and manage e-discovery.
• Prepare witnesses and corporate representatives for deposition and trial.
• Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and strategic case evaluations.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's national litigation platform.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active member of the California State Bar.
• 3-6 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience defending claims under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act strongly preferred.
• Defense-side experience representing manufacturers, automotive companies, dealerships, insurers, and other corporate clients.
• Deposition experience and strong motion-writing skills.
• Trial preparation experience required; courtroom and trial experience preferred.
• Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and written and oral advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage matters independently while working effectively within a team environment.
