Job summary

Whitman Legal Resources in Midtown Manhattan seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate to join a boutique firm known for handling sophisticated matters with direct responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of substantive commercial litigation experience, strong research, writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage matters and deadlines in a small, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school is required.
• Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing is required.
• Approximately 5 years of commercial litigation experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written legal analyses.
• Manage discovery, including document review, production, and depositions.
• Assist with and participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Manage multiple matters and deadlines independently while working closely with the firm's attorneys.

Our client is seeking an attorney with 5 years of substantive commercial litigation experience who is comfortable handling matters with a high level of responsibility in a small, collaborative firm environment.
