• 2-5 years of litigation experience in product liability, torts or complex commercial matters.

• MDL and class actions experience a plus.
• Strong state court experience required; federal court experience preferred.
• Bar admission: NY for NY opening; NJ for NJ; dual admission a plus.
• Excellent writing, research, and advocacy skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage complex matters and work independently.

Litigation Associate Attorney - Product Liability & Complex Litigation

Location: New York, NY / New Jersey

A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join its growing litigation practice. This opportunity offers exposure to sophisticated litigation matters, including product liability, mass torts, toxic torts, and complex commercial litigation, within a collaborative environment that supports professional development and long-term career growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background and a demonstrated interest in complex disputes, particularly those involving pharmaceutical products, medical devices, consumer health products, or other consumer-facing products. Candidates with experience in product liability, torts, and/or complex commercial litigation are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, document production, depositions, motion drafting and argument, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research, develop case strategies, and prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts regarding case developments and litigation strategy.
• Manage complex legal matters independently while collaborating with partners and colleagues on sophisticated disputes.
• Contribute to litigation strategy, case preparation, and courtroom advocacy.
• Work on matters involving product liability, mass torts, toxic torts, and complex commercial disputes.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of litigation experience in product liability, torts, mass torts, and/or complex commercial litigation.
• Experience involving pharmaceutical products, medical devices, consumer health products, or other consumer-facing products is preferred.
• Experience with multidistrict litigation (MDLs) and class actions is a plus.
• Strong state court litigation experience in the relevant jurisdiction required; federal court experience preferred.
• Admission to the New York Bar required for the New York position and admission to the New Jersey Bar required for the New Jersey position. Admission to both bars is a plus.
• Federal or appellate judicial clerkship experience will also be considered.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to develop effective litigation strategies, manage complex matters, and work independently.
• Strong academic credentials, initiative, resourcefulness, and a demonstrated work ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
