Job summary

Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea, BenMaier and Eastham is a defense law firm with offices nationwide, including New Orleans. We seek highly motivated attorneys to join our trial team and advance toward partnership through mentoring, collaboration, and client-focused advocacy.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in energy, maritime, or transportation sectors, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex matters and deadlines while working well in a team or independently.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take expert depositions and draft motions as part of trial preparation.

• Having 1-3 or more years of relevant experience in the energy, maritime, and/or transportation sector
• Experience taking expert depositions, writing motions, arguing motions, and drafting complex case evaluations
• Demonstrating exceptional writing, analytical, and advocacy skills and ability to successfully interact with clients and colleagues.
• Adapting quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment to successfully multi-task and manage deadlines to proactively complete transactions.
• Having a high comfort level in working both independently as well as in a team environment.
• Taking initiative by being action-oriented, immediately responsible for your client, delegating intelligently, and seeking opportunities for personal improvement.
• Showing academic excellence and leadership, having achieved a law degree from an accredited law school.
• Being admitted to practice in Louisiana

• Have excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Have first or second chair trial experience.
