Job summary

AJ Chambers US in Houston seeks a Wage and Hour Litigation Associate to join its plaintiff-side team. The role offers substantive experience handling complex class and collective actions under wage-and-hour laws.

The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of litigation experience, strong deposition and in-court advocacy skills, and is ready to work onsite 5 days a week with a national practice focused on workers' rights.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of litigation experience.
• Significant deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.
• Strong in-court advocacy experience, including arguing motions and handling hearings.
• Experience with class or collective action litigation.
• Experience drafting written discovery, pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence.
• Trial experience, including direct and cross-examination of witnesses.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in Texas and in good standing.
• Must be based in Houston, TX.
• Must be comfortable working fully onsite, 5 days per week.
• Strong live presentation and communication skills.
• Genuine interest in plaintiff side litigation and representing workers.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead complex wage-and-hour matters for plaintiffs.
• Take and defend depositions; handle hearings and motions.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Manage class/collective actions and coordinate with national clients.
• Represent workers in unpaid wage and related disputes.

We are delighted to be representing a nationally respected plaintiff side employment litigation boutique is seeking a Wage and Hour Litigation Associate to join its growing Houston team.

The firm focuses exclusively on wage and hour litigation, representing workers nationwide in complex unpaid wage, overtime, misclassification, and related employment disputes.

This is a highly substantive role offering direct exposure to senior attorneys and significant responsibility across complex class and collective actions.

Must Haves

• 5-10 years of litigation experience
• Significant deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions
• Strong in court advocacy experience, including arguing motions and handling hearings
• Experience with class or collective action litigation
• Experience drafting written discovery, pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
• Trial experience, including direct and cross-examination of witnesses
