Qualifications

• 2–10+ years of active civil defense litigation experience in GL, L&E, or Mass Tort.
• Must reside in California with capability to manage a 100% remote workflow.
• Excellent legal research, writing, courtroom presence, and deposition experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation cases from initial evaluation through trial prep, mediation, or resolution.
• Draft complex pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery requests with high autonomy.
• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Formulate strategic litigation plans while advising corporate clients and insurance carriers.

Randstad has been exclusively retained by a premier, full-service civil defense law firm to hire talented Litigation Counsel across three practice groups: General Liability, Labor & Employment, and Mass / Toxic Tort.

The Role:

• Manage civil litigation cases from initial evaluation through trial prep, mediation, or resolution.
• Draft complex pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery requests with high autonomy.
• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Formulate strategic litigation plans while advising corporate clients and insurance carriers.

The Requirements:

• Active Member in good standing with the State Bar of California (Mandatory).
• 2–10+ years of active civil defense litigation experience in GL, L&E, or Mass Tort.
• Must reside in California with proven capability to manage a 100% remote workflow.
• Excellent legal research, writing, courtroom presence, and deposition experience.

Compensation:

$130,000 – $215,000+ (Commensurate with experience; senior counsel/10+ yrs targeted at the top tier).
