Job summary

NACCO Natural Resources seeks a mining/engineer for the Thacker Pass Project in Orovada, NV. The role plans and tracks short-range production during construction and into mine production, coordinating with operations, engineering staff, and on-site contractors to deliver reports and variances to plans.

The engineer will oversee construction design, scheduling, and environmental and regulatory support, while ensuring MSHA safety and compliance standards are met.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a mining/civil/geological/construction field or a related discipline.
• Experience with construction and/or project management is desirable.
• Familiarity with MSHA safety rules and mining regulations may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Track production/construction activities and compare to plan.
• Update short-range plans to maintain project schedules.
• Prepare equipment scheduling to maximize efficiency.
• Plan and schedule ore grade control and waste streams; optimize efficiency while meeting customer quality requirements.
• Assist in long-term and annual work plan development; support monthly updates.
• Prepare end-of-period material reconciliation reports.
• Provide support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Design and oversee construction projects including buildings, concrete, and water management facilities.
• Support environmental projects related to permitting, groundwater/soil/waste management, and blasting.
