Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking an Early Literacy Tutor to provide contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing in South Hadley, MA. This part-time role offers $35-36 per hour and focuses on delivering targeted literacy interventions in partnership with schools.

You will diagnose skill gaps, plan lessons, and communicate progress to parents, teachers, and supervisors. FBI/BCI background checks are required, and teaching experience or state credentials are valued.

Qualifications

• FBI/BCI background check required.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students
• Communicate and conference with parents, providing information on student progress
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills using Company-designed materials
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company and local, state, and/or federal agencies

Education

Associate degree or higher

Two years of study

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours)
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper state credentials also qualify
• Must complete an FBI/BCI background check
• Teaching experience preferred
