Job summary

Wissahickon Charter School is seeking a Literacy Specialist for the Awbury campus to support 3rd–8th grade students with literacy intervention and to communicate progress to teachers and families. The role emphasizes EL curricula knowledge and data-driven instruction.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of literacy teaching experience, some coaching experience, and a strong commitment to addressing diverse learner needs and equity in literacy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of experience teaching literacy (3rd–8th grade preferred).
• Prior experience coaching or mentoring teachers in literacy and/or leading literacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and individualized literacy support to students in need of intervention.
• Use progress monitoring data to adjust instruction and groups.
• Communicate student progress to parents and collaborate with families.
