Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Grade Level Adjacent Education; Master's preferred.
• Virginia Dept of Education license with Grade Level Adjacent endorsement required; Reading Specialist preferred but not required.
• 3–5 years of successful teaching experience.
• Knowledge of literacy assessments and state assessments.
• Knowledge of instructional coaching, curriculum trends, differentiated instruction, and data-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and facilitates program-specific professional learning and implementation.
• Coordinates services and communicates program goals with appropriate personnel.
• Facilitates development and implementation of ACPS literacy frameworks and subcomponents.
• Strengthens teachers' instructional knowledge and repertoire of strategies for rigorous content.
• Supports teachers with co-planning, co-teaching, modeling, and classroom observations.
• Helps create classrooms where literacy is integrated and learners are actively engaged in challenging studies.
• Collaborates with teachers and administrators to provide differentiated support tied to growth in reading and professional goals.
• Analyzes formative and summative literacy data for school-wide improvement.
• Assists staff in data interpretation and intervention design to improve student achievement.
• Documents work and maintains progress logs with teacher input.
