Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education required.
• Master’s degree and Reading background preferred.
• Valid Virginia teaching license with endorsement in a Secondary Subject; Reading Specialist endorsement preferred.
• 3–5 years of successful teaching experience.
• Knowledge of current research in instructional coaching and differentiated instruction.
• Familiarity with literacy assessments and state assessments.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and facilitates professional learning to support inclusive literacy practices.
• Coordinates services and communicates program goals with staff.
• Strengthens teachers’ instructional knowledge with differentiated strategies.
• Facilitates the use of effective literacy strategies through co-planning and co-teaching.
• Supports classrooms where literacy is integrated across daily activities and assessments.
• Collaborates with teachers and admins to design data-driven interventions.
• Documents work and maintains progress logs with teacher input.
• Organizes PLCs, workshops, and training on literacy instruction.
