Job Overview

The Island Quest Day Camp is looking for a dedicated LIT Supervisor to lead LITs during the summer and support international LIT campers in Israel Day planning.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support agency initiatives by performing assigned duties accurately and efficiently, following established processes and contributing to basic data collection, reporting, or documentation.
  • Use agency resources responsibly by following procedures, safeguarding equipment and materials, and supporting cost-effective operations.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and cross‑department teams to ensure clear communication, timely task completion, and a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe environment for staff, partners, and the public; promptly report concerns or incidents.
  • Ensure curriculum is followed and LIT progress is tracked during all 38 days of camp (June 29 – August 20).
  • Attend pre‑camp staff trainings, orientations, and meetings as scheduled by the Director.
  • Oversee daily supervision, organization, and program direction for multiple groups of campers and staff during camp.
  • Promote positive youth development by fostering trust, inclusion, open communication, and strong relationships.
  • Ensure proper supervision, safety standards, designated staff ratios, and emergency preparedness.
  • Support, supervise, and evaluate staff throughout the summer, including mid‑ and end‑of‑season reviews.
  • Monitor camper needs, manage behavior appropriately, maintain required records, and coordinate additional support when needed.
  • Oversee program quality and progression, maintain equipment and facilities, and support participant growth, including Common Grounds Fellowship requirements.
  • Respond effectively to changing priorities and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, policies, and ethical standards and represent the agency professionally.
Role Expectations
  • Available for pre‑season staff trainings: May 29‑30, May 31, June 7, June 14, and June 28.
  • Dedicate 10 hours per month for program planning (total 30 hours) during January through mid‑March.
  • Assist with developing program manual and curriculum based on the program framework (estimated 50 hours).
  • Attend pre‑camp orientations, staff meetings, and late‑night and overnight activities as scheduled.
  • Attend fall events, make phone calls to families, and help plan for next summer (estimated 20 hours).
Qualifications & Key Attributes

  • Minimum 2‑4 years of supervisory experience.

Essential Job Functions
Pre‑Camp
  • Staff trainings: hold 2 LIT events, help plan a LIT training day in June.
  • Program development and CPR/First Aid training (as needed).
  • Assist with staff paperwork.
During Camp
  • Follow and enforce camp manual policies.
  • Oversee program quality and staff supervision.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and program progression.
  • Support Common Grounds Fellowship requirements.
Compensation & Benefits

Seasonal Salary/Rate: $4,000 – $5,500 for the entire summer. Compensation is determined by internal and external equity and aligns with mission‑driven equity and transparency.

Working Conditions & Job Details
  • Season dates: June 29 – August 20.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30/5:00 p.m.; available by phone until 6:30 p.m.
  • Position: Non‑union, on‑site in-person.
  • Physical requirements: light to heavy lifting up to 20‑50 pounds; climbing, standing, stooping, typing.
  • Environment: outdoors and at camp facilities.
  • Travel: none.
