Job summary

Sira Consulting, an Inc 5000 company, seeks a Linux Systems Engineer – Server Migration to lead large-scale data center migrations. You will plan and execute ESXi host and VM migrations, configure iSCSI storage, and manage LVM-based storage provisioning.

You will also build automation for repeatable migration workflows and ensure continuity during cutover. Ideal candidates have strong Linux internals, VMware ESXi expertise, OpenShift/Kubernetes experience, and hands-on scripting skills in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering field.
• Hands-on Linux compute environments experience.
• Deep knowledge of ESXi/vSphere and VM migration techniques.
• iSCSI networking configuration and troubleshooting.
• LVM with snapshots, vgexport/vgimport, and migration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven).
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own and engineer Linux compute platform during all migration phases.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end server migrations (ESXi and VMs).
• Manage ESXi environments and iSCSI networks with minimal downtime.
• Manage LVM configurations and snapshot-based migrations; validate filesystems.
• Develop automation for reliable migration workflows and runbooks.
• Integrate OpenShift/Kubernetes into migration, ensure scale and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for IaC-based migrations.
• Monitor performance, optimize, and troubleshoot migrations.
• Uphold security practices across Linux infrastructure.
