Job summary

Fantom Corporation is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical IAM environment in Chantilly, VA. You’ll provide lifecycle systems engineering across Linux and AWS, troubleshooting complex access issues and collaborating with development, operations, and customer-facing teams.

The ideal candidate has strong Linux administration, hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3), and a proactive approach to security and compliance.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret clearance required.
Willing to obtain a polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong Linux and AWS experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for Tier II personnel and resolve customer-facing system and access issues.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA), troubleshoot operational issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
Monitor system health, user metrics, performance, and operational availability.
Develop scripts and playbook-based automation to support recurring operational tasks.
Manage and maintain COTS and GOTS software across multiple environments.
Partner with enterprise services teams to maintain security and application compliance.
Troubleshoot network and identity/access issues across complex environments.
Analyze system workflows and identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Document technical findings and communicate issues and resolutions to development and operational teams.
