Job summary

Atlas Tech is seeking a Linux Sustainment Engineer to support Navy tactical communications systems. You will administer Red Hat VMs and containers, develop Python applications, and automate maintenance tasks while ensuring STIG compliance and DoD guidelines.

Applicants must be a US citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance, experienced in CI/CD tools, scripting, and IT product ecosystems, to join our veteran-owned IT team supporting multiple DoD customers.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in relevant technical field or combination of education and experience.
• 8-10 years of Linux system administration experience.
• 5 years of software development experience using Python, Java or C#
• CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred and beneficial.
• 3 years' experience working with a wide range of IT products

Responsibilities

• Administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman)
• Develop software applications in Python (Python preferred; Java or C# experience considered)
• Automate maintenance tasks using shell scripting (Bash)
• Maintain source code in software repositories (Git)
• Assist in management of network devices, including configuration of layer 2 & 3 switches and routers
• Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change requests (ECR) and software installation documentation
• Research and resolve software trouble reports impacting application functionality.
• Ensure compliance with DoD guidelines for IT system security, specifically STIG compliance
