Job summary

Odyssey Information Services seeks a Senior Linux Administrator to support Linux OS image management, patching, hardware integration and production support for a global POS infrastructure. This hands-on role requires 5+ years of Linux admin experience, SUSE preferred, and strong scripting skills.

The position is 100% onsite in South Dallas (75236) on an engagement of 12+ months with potential contract-to-hire; candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to sensitive access.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Linux OS Administration experience, SUSE preferred.
• 5+ years scripting using Bash, KSH, Perl and/or Python.
• Hands-on Linux troubleshooting and production support experience.
• Must be onsite 100% in South Dallas (75236).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder due to sensitive-access requirements.

• Create and maintain Linux OS images supporting POS locations worldwide.
• Manage ongoing Linux patching for devices deployed in the field.
• Troubleshoot escalated Linux/POS issues with technicians across multiple locations.
• Work with hardware vendors to ensure JPOS device drivers function properly with current and future hardware.
• Support Linux integration with enterprise systems and infrastructure.
• Participate in after-hours on-call support for priority production issues.

Required
