Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving DoD customers, seeks a Linux Sustainment Engineer to support Navy tactical communications systems. You will maintain RHEL servers, manage virtual machines and containers, and develop Python applications while aligning with DoD security guidelines.

This role requires US citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance, plus experience with CI/CD tools, scripting, and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• US Citizen and DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience with Linux system administration and DoD IT guidelines.
• Proficiency with Git-based repositories and CI/CD tooling.
• Strong scripting (Bash/Python/HTML) and documentation skills.
• Experience with networking devices and SSH-based maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
• Administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman).
• Develop software applications in Python (Java/C# optional).
• Automate maintenance tasks using Bash scripts.
• Maintain source code in Git repositories (Git/GitLab).
• Assist in configuring network devices (switches/routers).
• Support DoD ECRs and installation documentation.
• Research and resolve software trouble reports impacting apps.
• Ensure STIG compliance and DoD security guidelines.
