Job summary

Parsons seeks a Linux Systems Security Engineer to design, implement, and secure enterprise Linux infrastructure in Centreville, VA. The role emphasizes Red Hat/Rocky Linux, STIG compliance, identity management, and secure configurations across services like FreeIPA, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, and GitLab.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance, a Bachelor's degree, and 5+ years of cybersecurity/IT experience, with hybrid work and onsite presence in Centreville three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of cybersecurity/IT experience.
• Current IAT Level II certification such as Security+, SSCP, CySA+, GSEC, CCNA Cyber Ops.
• Experience administering and securing Red Hat Enterprise/Rocky Linux environments and STIG hardening.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Linux enterprise solutions (FreeIPA, Pulp/Foreman, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and secure Rocky Linux environments.
• Automate deployment, configuration, patching, and compliance activities.
• Configure centralized authentication, authorization, identity management, and access controls.
• Support vulnerability assessment, remediation, and continuous security monitoring.
• Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, virtualization, systems administration, and application teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to operational standards and best practices.
