Job summary

Amazon Linux team in Seattle seeks an experienced software engineer to design, build, and maintain the platform that powers AWS EC2 and the world’s premier cloud environment.

You’ll refine technical direction, write designs and code, and sometimes lead small project teams or contribute directly. Proficiency in C/C++ and Python on Linux, plus experience with packaging, VCS, and testing, is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Deliver features and debug problems on core platforms.
• Maintain servers and support customers.
• Lead small project teams or contribute directly to projects.
• Contribute to Linux-based cloud platform development with EC2 focus.
