Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for EC2 Core Platforms Engineering.

You will work at the seam between hardware and software to launch new compute platforms, keep the core fleet healthy at massive scale, and automate the way we build. You’ll collaborate across hardware engineering, Annapurna, and Nitro component teams, shaping the largest compute fleets in the world and driving reliability through automation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage, or operating systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, Java, Python, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Bring up and validate new server platforms from lab to production.
• Diagnose hardware and software failures across a large-scale fleet.
• Build software and automation to streamline platform provisioning and validation.
• Develop solutions spanning firmware, OS, networking, and infrastructure.
• Improve safety, agility, and automation of build and launch processes.
