Qualifications

• Progressive experience engineering and supporting enterprise infrastructure in complex, highly available environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering results through others.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, storage, backup and disaster recovery principles.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting cross-geo or hybrid infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead major incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Experience with lifecycle planning, capacity forecasting, performance management, patching, and refresh programs.
• Experience developing and validating recovery plans with restoration testing and failover exercises.
• Working knowledge of automation, scripting, configuration management, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience managing vendors, budgets, and project delivery.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to engineers and leadership.
• Strong organizational, analytical, documentation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of systems engineers and contractors; set priorities and standards.
• Provide hands-on leadership across Linux servers, shared storage, data protection, and DR.
• Own service health, capacity, availability, and lifecycle planning for the portfolio.
• Guide architecture decisions for modernization, migrations, and retirement of legacy infra.
• Lead complex incident response with root-cause analysis and communication.
• Maintain operational standards for monitoring, patching, and change control.
• Develop backup, restoration, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities; document results.
• Partner with apps and DB teams to map workloads to compute, storage, and protection.
• Drive automation to reduce drift and operational risk.
• Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, renewals, and proposals.
• Plan capital and operating budgets and infrastructure investments.
• Lead cross-functional projects and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• Ensure platforms meet security, audit, regulatory, and governance requirements.
• Participate in maintenance, escalations, and critical recovery events.
