Mercor is seeking experts who have contributed to Linux or Linux kernel repos who is eager to collaborate with leading AI research lab to push the boundaries of their frontier AI models. You will act as domain expert, bringing in your deep knowledge of Linux kernel development workflows, conventions, and subsystems to improve AI model’s performance on system code understanding and generation. Why you are right fit You are an ideal candidate if you -

• Have 5+ years of experience in Linux kernel development or contributing to the Linux/kernel repos.
• Possess deep knowledge of Linux development workflows.
• Have a degree in Computer Science from a top university.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong attention to details.

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
• Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
• Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Compensation and Legal Details

• You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
• We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
