Job summary

Dairyland Power Cooperative seeks a Lineworker, Construction to safely build, operate and maintain transmission lines and substations from La Crosse Service Center. You will lead crews, ensure adherence to safety rules, and collaborate with Foreperson on projects across multiple states.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus a lineworker apprenticeship or post-secondary training; CDL and extensive field experience are essential, with travel across the service area expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and apprenticeship or post-secondary lineworker training.
• Minimum two years line construction experience; four years preferred.
• Successful completion of accredited lineworker training program.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and safety around energized lines.
• Ability to read construction plans and schematics; interpret technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Safely construct, operate and maintain transmission lines and circuits.
• Maintain professional relationships with utilities, contractors, and property owners.
• Collaborate with the Foreperson on line construction activities.
• Serve as lead worker on projects and guide crew members.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment; operate safely.
• Read and interpret plans; follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist Safety Department and adhere to procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
