Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a Lineman Apprentice to support the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems at the PEC Liberty Hill Office.

The role requires climbing poles, learning to operate boom trucks and other equipment, and progressing through the apprenticeship program. A valid Texas CDL is required, and candidates must be able to respond to call-out duties and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Department of Labor approved Apprenticeship Program requirements for Apprentice Level 1A.
• Obtain a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Motor Vehicle Report that comply with PEC policy.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles and work on de-energized poles and lines.
• Operate PEC vehicles in compliance with laws and PEC policies.
• Assist in digging holes and setting poles.
• Assist experienced Linemen as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of tools and vehicles.
• Must be available for Call-Out duty and emergency restoration.
