Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative in Bertram, TX seeks an Apprentice to perform duties in the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems. The role requires completing a DOL Journeyworker program and holding a valid Texas CDL A.

You'll construct lines, inspect equipment, and participate in emergency restoration and safety training. This full-time position offers a starting base pay with KPI bonuses and competitive benefits, with a midpoint provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of DOL program requirements for Journeyworker.
• Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Motor Vehicle Report that comply with PEC policy.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead and underground electric lines and equipment.
• Inspect existing primary and secondary power lines and substation equipment.
• Perform rubber glove work on energized lines from aerial device.
• Participate in emergency restoration and call-out duty.
• Lead and/or monitor job briefings and tail board meetings.
