Job summary

Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) seeks a 1st Class Lineworker to join the Operations Team at the Grand Isle District. You will build and maintain overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems, restoring service safely and supporting reliability goals.

The role requires a CDL, NESC knowledge, and 4.5 years of line work, with an approved Lineworker training program; apprenticeship considered. Willingness to relocate within a year is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and at least 4.5 years of utility line work experience.
• Must have completed an approved Lineworker training program; apprentice considered.
• Valid Class A CDL; knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
• Safely restore electric service and support reliability goals.
• Work with a team and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Live within 45 minutes of the Grand Isle district or be willing to relocate within a year.
