Job summary

Southwest-Lt is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to ensure clean and sanitary linens, clothing, and laundry items for residents and the facility. You will handle washing, drying, folding, and distribution while upholding infection control standards in a nursing environment.

As part of the team you will sort items, label and track resident clothing, operate commercial laundry equipment, and report any equipment issues to maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare or hospitality experience is a plus).
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Knowledge of basic infection control and sanitation practices.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Collect soiled linens, towels, and resident clothing from designated areas.
• Sort laundry according to type, color, and washing requirements.
• Operate commercial washers and dryers according to facility procedures.
• Fold, stack, and distribute clean laundry to resident rooms and facility departments.
• Ensure proper labeling and return of resident personal clothing.
• Follow infection control procedures when handling contaminated laundry.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
• Monitor and report equipment malfunctions to maintenance or supervisors.
• Maintain adequate supply of linens for resident care areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of laundry chemicals.
• Assist with special laundry needs or requests as directed by supervisor.
