What you’ll do as a lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
• Direct traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations and travel to various sites
• Maintain safe working conditions following all regulations and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• 3-5 years of construction experience, preferably in telecommunications as a Telephony Lineman
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Ability to climb poles and work in bucket trucks and aloft, up to 40 feet
• Capable of performing pole transfers, maintenance, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Able to work in all weather conditions
