What you’ll do as a lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
• Direct traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations and travel between sites
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions following all regulations, procedures, and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications as a Telephony Lineman with 3-5 years of experience
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Ability to climb telephone poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform duties such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, lashings, and strand construction
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
