Qualifications

• Be 18 years or older.
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables.
• Safely use hand tools and equipment.
• Direct traffic flow according to DOT guidelines.

Skills

Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures

Ability to climb poles

Education

What you'll do as a Lineman I Telecom

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators
• Direct traffic flow according to DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations and travel as needed
• Maintain safe working habits according to regulations and policies

What you'll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
• Ability to climb poles and work in bucket trucks and aloft up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform various telecommunications construction duties
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
