What you'll do as a Lineman I Telecom
- Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
- Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
- Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators
- Direct traffic flow according to DOT guidelines
- Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
- Work in multiple locations and travel as needed
- Maintain safe working habits according to regulations and policies
What you'll need
- Be 18 years or older
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience
- Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
- Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
- Ability to climb poles and work in bucket trucks and aloft up to 40 feet
- Ability to perform various telecommunications construction duties
- Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
Additional qualifications
- Class A CDL license (if applicable)
- Physical ability to lift/carry 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs as needed
