Qualifications

• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
• Ability to perform pole transfers, maintenance builds, and cable installations.

What you’ll do as a Lineman I Telecom

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
• Direct traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations and travel as needed
• Maintain safe working conditions according to regulations, procedures, and policies

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Ability to climb telephone poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installations, lashings, and strand construction
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Additional qualifications (if applicable)

• Class A CDL license

Physical abilities & exposures

• Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed
• Occasionally stoop, bend, lift, climb, and work outside
