Job summary

Xcel Energy in Greeley, CO is seeking Journeyman Linemen to support overhead and underground distribution systems. The position requires extensive field work, emergency callouts after hours, and living within 40 miles of the Greeley Operations Center.

Starting pay is $63.95 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package. Applicants must have a Journeyman Lineman certification, apprenticeship completion, and a valid CDL Class A license with a Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Lineman certification and completed apprenticeship.
• Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Must live within 40 minutes/40 miles of the Greeley Operations Center.
• Knowledge of distribution primary feeder circuits, transformer loading and connections, and fusing practices.
• Experience with electric meter sets and their connections.
• Experience with hot line tools, PPE, and related safety procedures.
• Operation of Line Construction and Maintenance vehicles and related equipment.
• Troubleshooting of electric distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of lineman classification for overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts after normal work hours and weekends.
• Ensure residence within 40 minutes of the Greeley Operations Center.
• Conduct safe, proficient pole climbing and line work.
• Collaborate with team to maintain reliable service and safety standards.
