Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking skilled lines personnel to construct, maintain, and repair transmission and distribution lines and equipment. You will operate trucks, climb structures, and restore service promptly after weather or equipment issues.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of a four-year apprenticeship or journeyman status, and willingness to work irregular hours during storms. CDL Class A and safety certifications are expected where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Equivalent to four-year formal apprenticeship training such as I.B.E.W. Lineman Apprenticeship.
• Journeyman lineman certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Construct, dismantle, maintain, operate and repair transmission and distribution lines and equipment.
• Install, tension, tie in and remove conductors and frame and climb poles.
• Operate construction equipment and restore service after outages.
• Maintain street and security lighting and report for duty fit for work.
