Job summary

Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) seeks an entry-level Lineman Apprentice to support transmission and distribution work across the northeast Oklahoma system, based at the Pryor area headquarters. You will assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage lines and equipment, while following strict safety guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma and some experience in high-voltage operations; CDL and OSHA-10 are mandatory within set timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 1 year of experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution preferred.
• Must have valid Oklahoma driver’s license; Class A CDL within 1–2 years depending on state requirements.
• OSHA 10 certification or within 6 months after employment.
• GRDA switchman certificate and certified clearance holder certificate from GRDA System Operations.
• Arc Flash Training and other GRDA-required training.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair high-voltage transmission and distribution lines and equipment.
• Follow NESC and IEEE guidelines for installation of transmission poles and conductors.
• Coordinate with GRDA divisions and other crews on projects and logistics.
• Be on call and available for extended hours and callouts after normal working hours.
• Ensure safe, compliant work orders and project completion.
