Job summary

Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC is seeking an Apprentice to perform construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines. The position is based out of the Hutto Service Center, Texas, with an assigned service territory.

Responsibilities include working with energized equipment under supervision, traveling as needed, and adhering to safety standards. A CDL and related training are preferred, with opportunities to advance through Oncor’s Lineman Training Program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class A CDL license required.
• 4+ years of related distribution utility construction experience encouraged to apply.
• Linemen school certificate/degree encouraged to apply.
• Associate degree in electrical technology encouraged.

Responsibilities

• On-call in scheduled rotation; overtime and 24-hour call-out required.
• Willingness to travel outside assigned district when needed.
• Work on wood poles, insulated platforms and bucket trucks with safety procedures.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds above head regularly.
• Live within 60 minutes of the service center, 30 minutes preferred.
• Comply with Code of Conduct and participate in local safety programs.
• Learn and follow Oncor’s Lineman Training Program.
