American Electric Power in Tipton, OK seeks a lineworker to assist in installation, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. You will drive line trucks, climb poles, and work with high-voltage systems up to 138 kV, using appropriate PPE and grounded procedures.

Qualifications include a High School/GED, no experience required (line school preferred), CDL within six months, and the HireVue Lineworker Assessment.

Formación

• High School Education/GED.
• No experience required. Line work experience or line school education is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL state driver's license or be able to obtain one within six months.
• HireVue Lineworker Assessment.
• Must live within 35 mile radius/40 roadway miles of service location.
• Must have the ability to climb and work at heights.
• Must pass the AEP Pre-Assessment Evaluation.

Responsabilidades

• Opens and closes switches and installs grounding devices to lines and equipment.
• Climbs poles or rides in bucket to install or repair wires, arms, insulators or other hardware on poles.
• Install and repair underground facilities such as cable, transformers, potheads and pedestals.
• Covers energized lines with rubber goods to facilitate safe handling of high-voltage lines without interrupting service.
• Uses insulated poles (hot sticks) fitted with mechanically or hydraulically operated grasping and crimping tools to perform energized line work up to 138 KV or rubber gloves and sleeves to perform energized line work up to 15 KV.
