Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) invites qualified candidates for a lineworker position in Bartlesville, OK. You will assist in installation, maintenance, and inspection of transmission and distribution facilities, and operate line trucks and related equipment.

Education is High School/GED; no prior experience is required, but line work experience or schooling is a plus. CDL is required or obtainable within six months, with mandatory HireVue Lineworker testing and OT as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
CDL license required or ability to obtain within six months.
Must pass HireVue Lineworker pre-employment test.

Responsibilities

Assist in installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities.
Drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment.
Open and close switches and install grounding devices to lines and equipment.
Climb poles or ride in bucket to install or repair wires, arms, insulators or other hardware.
Install and repair underground facilities such as cable, transformers, potheads and pedestals.
Install pole hardware and auxiliary equipment using hand tools and mechanical devices.
Follow safety protocols to handle energized lines up to 138 kV or 15 kV with appropriate PPE.
