Job summary

Twin City Foods, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Line Worker to join our production team in Michigan. The role includes operating shaker tables, inspecting products, stacking boxes, and ensuring proper codes and packaging seals on lines.

You will respond to QA and dump operator inputs to keep flow smooth. As a Line Worker, you will perform physical duties including standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 lbs, and following strict food safety PPE and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB POSITION – STANDING: about 6 hours of standing per shift, around 2 hours walking, and about 2 hours may be sitting.
• LIFTING: up to 60 lbs maximum, average around 30 lbs, with a lifting frequency of 400 times per hour.
• TWISTING: twisting while carrying heavy loads at 200–225 times per hour for about 4 hours per shift.
• PUSH/PULL: about 30 lbs average weight for ~4 hours per shift.
• HAND/WRIST: fine hand movements 2–3 hours per shift with pinching/gripping.
• ELBOWS/SHOULDERS: used 2–3 hours per day during stacking.
• KNEES: some squatting ~1 hour per shift, 400–500 times per hour.
• CLIMBING: minimal 1–2 foot climb, 4 times per shift.
• WALKING DISTANCE: ~2 miles per shift.
• VISION: 20/40 or better, with or without correction.
• COLOR VISION: Normal color vision required.
• HEARING: Hearing better than 40 Db in at least one ear.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product on shaker table.
• Add product on table if necessary.
• Notify dump operator, machine operator, or QA if any problem with mix or product flow.
• Remove any foreign material or bad product that does not belong.
• Stack boxes (8 lbs to 55 lbs) and move pallets (empty 60 lbs).
• Check codes on cases and stretch wrap pallets, place slip sheets, and shut down line if necessary.
• Maintain food safety PPE and housekeeping in the work area.

POSITION DUTIES

Shaker Table Attendant

• Inspect product on shaker table.
• Add product on table if necessary.
• Notify dump operator, Machine Operator, or QA if:
  • Any problem with mix
  • Product flow
• Remove any foreign material or bad product that does not belong.

Stacker

• Stack boxes (8lbs to 55 lbs).
• Move pallets (empty 60 lbs).
• Check codes on cases.
• Stretch wrap pallets.
• Place slip sheets.
• Shut down line if necessary.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB POSITION

• STANDING – This position requires about 6 hours of standing per shift, with around 2 hours walking, and about 2 hours in which the employee may sit.
• PACE OF JOB – The pace of this job is set by the speed of the conveyor line and is not considered to be a quick pace.
• LIFTING – A significant amount of lifting is required in this job position. The maximum amount lifted is around 60 lbs. with the average lift being around 30 lbs. with a lifting frequency of 400 times per hour. Lifting heights vary from 4 inches above the floor to 6 feet above the floor.
• TWISTING while carrying heavy loads is required in this job position at a rate of200-225 times per hour for about 4 hours per shift.
• PUSH/PULL activities of about 30 lbs. average weight and involving around 4 hours per shift.
• HAND/WRIST use is essential with 2-3 hours each shift requiring fine hand/wrist movements, pinching/gripping activities and repetitive twisting and bending of the wrist.
• ELBOWS and SHOULDER use is required for 2 to 3 hours per day in the stacking portion of the job.
• KNEES – Work on the knees is not essential for this job but a fair amount of squatting is required for about 1 hour per shift at a rate of 400-500 times per hour.
• CLIMBING is minimal on this job with a 1-2 foot climb 4 times per shift.
• WALKING DISTANCE for a shift is estimated to be around 2 miles.
• VISION – 20/40 or better required with or without correction.
• COLOR VISION – Normal color vision required.
• HEARING – Hearing better than 40 Db threshold level in at least one ear is expected.

Food Safety Duties/Requirements

• Use proper food safety PPE.
• Ensure that pre-packaged products are free from any foreign objects/materials.
• General housekeeping of area.
• Ensure proper product code and good package seals.
