Job summary

East Central Energy in Milaca, MN is seeking a Line Technician to join our Operations team. You will construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines, respond to outages, troubleshoot system issues, and support safe, reliable electricity delivery to our members. Qualified candidates from apprentice through journeyman levels are encouraged to apply.

This onsite role runs Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; residence within 20 miles of Milaca is required.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and either a minimum of four years of electrical line experience or completion of an electrical lineworker program.
• Credentials: Valid Class A CDL for interstate commerce, DOT Medical Examiner’s Certification, and CPR Certification; Journeyman Lineman Certification for journeyworker; accredited lineworker program for apprentices.
• Skills: Strong understanding of power line construction and maintenance; read staking sheets; safety-focused; good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Line construction and maintenance: Build and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines and equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairs: Respond to outages, perform repairs, replace damaged equipment.
• System support: Install and maintain transformers, meters, regulators and other line devices.
• Safety and compliance: Follow safety requirements and codes (ECE, RUS, NESC).
