Job summary

The City of Albany, Georgia is seeking a skilled electrical distribution worker to operate equipment and perform manual tasks for construction, repair and maintenance of power transmission systems. You will install and service underground and overhead structures, climb poles, and handle bucket trucks while reading diagrams and coordinating with supervisors.

This role requires a technical degree or equivalent training, plus several years of experience, an Approved Apprentice Program and a Georgia

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree with training in electrical distribution/transmission systems.
• Three years of experience and/or training in electrical distribution/transmission systems.
• Must pass a 3 year Approved Apprentice Program.
• Must possess and maintain Georgia CDL with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform manual work for construction, maintenance and repair of power systems.
• Install, maintain and repair underground/overhead structures and lines.
• Climb poles and operate bucket trucks to install or repair wiring.
• Read electrical diagrams and maps; prepare required forms and reports.
• Assist in safety, investigations, and court-of-operations as needed.
• Perform tasks such as digging, trenching, flagging, and equipment maintenance.
