Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated in Gretna, Louisiana, is seeking a 1st Shift Line Technician to ensure the smooth operation of the production line, meet quality targets and minimize downtime. The role requires coordinating line setup, changeovers and routine maintenance while following safety and GMP guidelines.

You will train teammates, perform quality inspections, and document inventory using SAP, contributing to overall production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in food manufacturing with a strong background in leadership, operating manufacturing equipment, sanitation, and/or QA or related technical Associate’s degree.
• Proven mechanical ability.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds continually and 25-50 pounds frequently.
• Work in an environment with fumes or airborne particles and machinery with moving parts.
• Overtime and weekend work as required by production demands.

Responsibilities

• Line set-up, product changeovers, package size changes and minor repairs on line equipment.
• Operate processing, filling and packaging production line equipment.
• Perform quality inspections of products and packs, including visual checks, weights, labels and date codes.
• Monitor line team activities to meet production needs and minimize downtime.
• Process inventory transactions using SAP and complete paperwork.
• Perform allergen clean up and daily housekeeping duties.
• Assist in training employees on line operation and company processes.
