American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Line Servicer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot transmission and distribution facilities across overhead and underground systems. You will respond to trouble calls, coordinate switching, and work with crews to restore service safely.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class A CDL, 2+ years as Line Mechanic A or equivalent, and a physical abilities assessment.

Perform all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Provide first response to trouble calls; investigate, correct and clear trouble, and provide assistance to construction and repair crews, as required. All items apply to overhead and underground, as applicable. Employee may perform miscellaneous, related, and incidental work in addition to that specifically outlined below. The Line Servicer builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Line Mechanic A, Lineman A (or equivalent).

Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISION - When a qualified person is near the structure/equipment and is in constant visual and/or verbal contact to the person performing the designated task. GENERAL SUPERVISION - An employee of equal or higher classification, knowledgeable of the task at hand and not necessarily at the job site. QUALIFIED PERSON - Station Electrician or Supervisor who is knowledgeable of the task or work to be performed, and is capable of performing the appropriate emergency rescue.
Assist with technical and specialized work of a skilled nature in connection with electrical and control systems; analysis, detection and repair of single loop control systems , electronic devices, communication systems, and instruments such as meters, gauges and regulators; assist others in making tests, surveys and layout work and the development of reports documenting results.
