American Electric Power is seeking a Line Servicer to perform installation, maintenance and inspection on overhead and underground transmission and distribution facilities across the Iowa/Elkhart region. You will respond to trouble calls, locate faults, restore service and coordinate with crews to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.
This role requires a High school diploma or GED, at least 2 years as a Line Mechanic A or equivalent, and a Valid Class A CDL.
Perform all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Provide first response to trouble calls; investigate, correct and clear trouble, and provide assistance to construction and repair crews, as required. All items apply to overhead and underground, as applicable. Employee may perform miscellaneous, related, and incidental work in addition to that specifically outlined below. The Line Servicer builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Line Mechanic A, Lineman A (or equivalent).
