Job summary

Gilley’s in Park City, KS is seeking a flexible hospitality team member to provide friendly guest service, deliver food and drinks, and perform cashier duties. This role includes greeting guests, serving, upselling, and maintaining a clean, efficient dining environment.

The position requires 18+ years of age, KRGC gaming license eligibility, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior customer service and money handling experience are preferred in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain KRGC Gaming License.
• Able to carry and balance service tray.
• Legible handwriting.
• Extensive knowledge of menu prices and composition of food and beverage items, daily specials and proper placing procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• One year of direct customer contact experience, preferred.
• Previous money handling experience preferred.
• Display professionalism; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance as outlined in the Gilley’s Team Member Handbook.
• Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
• Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests at assigned tables and ensures each guest needs are met.
• Returns to each assigned table periodically to ascertain whether additional items are desired.
• Clears empty plates as guests complete each course.
• Serves food and beverages to guests where appropriate.
• Refills, water, coffee, and other drinks upon request of guests.
• Deal with high volume customer interactions and stay outgoing and cheerful.
• Builds guest relations and makes guests feel welcome for return visits.
• Observe activity and assist slot players with machine functions and payouts.
• Report anything out of the ordinary.
• Resolve guest complaints to maintain positive relationships.
• Ensure guests are kept in play with friendly service at all interactions.
• Use open body language and polite communication.
• Assist in maintaining a spotless facility and dispose of trash.
• Maintain monetary and paperwork accuracy within standards.
• Adhere to policies and encourage others to do the same.
• Resolve disputes up to a set amount; escalate to management otherwise.
• Cross-train in other F&B areas.

Essential Job Functions

• Greets guests at assigned tables and ensures each guest needs are met

• Builds guest relations throughout every shift by talking with customers and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and inviting them back
• Observes all activity within assigned areas offering assistance to slot players, and instruction on machine functions and payouts
• Observes activity and reports anything that is out of the ordinary
• Capable of handling routine customer complaints and incidents and exhibits the appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of management personnel; effort is given to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships
• Ensures all guests are kept in play by providing friendly and helpful service at all interactions
• Utilizes open body language, politely speaks with and assists guests as needed
• Assists in maintaining a spotless facility by disposing of any cups, glasses or bottles left by guests
• Maintains monetary and paperwork accuracy and efficiency within department/property standards
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
• Empowered to resolve guest disputes quickly and efficiently up to a pre-determined amount. Otherwise, ensuring a manager is notified immediately to resolve the situation.
